Mayflower – The Encore at 9 W Main St, Troy, offered elevated-casual American dining inside a beautifully restored 1928 theater. Its final menu combined creative appetizers, salads, steak, seafood, chicken, burgers, risotto, gnocchi, and indulgent desserts. The extensive bar featured craft cocktails, bourbon, whiskey, tequila, wine, local draft beer, cider, and non-alcoholic spirits. Signature dishes included Chicken & Waffles, Braised Short Rib, Blackened Salmon, Steak Frites, and the Curtain Call Burger.

Main dishes generally ranged from $22-$34, reflecting generous portions, premium proteins, and polished preparation. Slow-braised beef, fresh salmon, house-made sauces, crisp vegetables, goat cheese, seasonal produce, and hand-cut fries created layers of savory, creamy, smoky, tangy, and gently sweet flavor.

Vegetarian diners could choose Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto, salads, and seasonal bruschetta, while the risotto was also marked vegan and gluten-free. Gluten-free Chicharrones and a gluten-free burger modification were available as well. The venue was 18+, so it was not designed for children and did not offer a traditional kids’ menu. With evening-only service, live entertainment, a full cocktail bar, and private-party packages, Mayflower was best suited to dinner, date nights, late-night drinks, celebrations, and group events rather than breakfast or lunch.

Menu Highlights

Chicken & Waffles – $28
Crispy hot chicken was paired with house-made orange-zest and vanilla-bean waffles, bacon jam, and maple syrup. Sweet, spicy, smoky, and crunchy elements made this one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.

Braised Short Rib – $32
Beef short rib was slowly roasted in house-made demi-glace and served over creamy mashed potatoes. Its fork-tender texture and deep savory sauce delivered classic comfort with an upscale finish.

Blackened Salmon – $34
Salmon was blackened for a seasoned crust and served with mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and Creole cream sauce. Rich fish and mildly spicy sauce made it one of the menu’s strongest seafood choices.

Steak Frites – $34
An 8-ounce strip steak came with hand-cut fries and a choice of peppercorn sauce, chimichurri, or Cajun remoulade. The customizable sauces gave the classic steak-and-fries combination extra personality.

Curtain Call Burger – $22
An 8-ounce ground chuck burger was topped with bacon jam, smoked tomatoes, lemon aioli, and whipped goat cheese. Smoky, creamy, tangy flavors made it far more distinctive than a standard pub burger.

Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto – $28
Creamy risotto combined earthy mushrooms with fresh asparagus and could be ordered vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. Its rich texture made it one of the menu’s most flexible meat-free entrées.

Campfire S’mores Brownie – $12
A gooey brownie was layered with chocolate ganache, toasted graham crackers, and vanilla ice cream. Warm chocolate and cool ice cream created an indulgent finish designed for sharing.
